Best job boards for SOC, DFIR and detection engineering jobs (2026)
Most job boards treat cybersecurity as one big bucket, so a search for SOC analyst also returns pentesting, help desk and sales roles. These 12 boards are ranked by how useful they are for defensive security work: how much of each board is blue team roles, how well you can filter to them, and how much noise you wade through. Size counts for less than fit.
Updated Oct 31, 2026. We run BlueTeamJobs, number 1 on this list, so read that entry with that in mind.

The list
1. BlueTeamJobs
Best for: SOC, incident response, DFIR, detection engineering and CTI roles only
Our own board, so weigh this one accordingly. It lists defensive security roles only and leaves out pentesting and red team jobs, so every listing is blue team work. Jobs come straight from employers’ own hiring systems, with filters for role, remote, entry level, certification and clearance.
2. ClearanceJobs
Best for: Cleared SOC and cyber defense roles at defense contractors and agencies
The go-to board for jobs that need a security clearance. If you hold Secret or TS/SCI, it has far more cleared SOC and incident response openings than any general board, and recruiters search its candidate profiles.
3. USAJOBS
Best for: US federal government cyber defense jobs
The official site for federal jobs. Many defensive roles sit in the 2210 IT Specialist series (look for "INFOSEC" or "cybersecurity" in the title). Applications are slower and more formal than in the private sector, but the roles are stable and often trainee-friendly.
4. CyberSN
Best for: Cybersecurity roles sorted by job function
A cybersecurity-only job board and recruiting firm. It groups roles by function, which makes it easier to find security operations and incident response work than on general boards.
5. infosec-jobs.com
Best for: Security jobs worldwide, including remote
A security-focused board that covers international and remote roles as well as the US. It mixes offensive, governance and defensive roles, so expect to filter.
6. CyberSecJobs.com
Best for: US cybersecurity roles
A cybersecurity-specific job board focused on the US. Worth adding as a second source once you have searched the boards above.
7. ISC2 Career Center
Best for: Mid-career and certified security professionals
The job board run by ISC2, the body behind CISSP and CC. Listings lean mid-level and senior, and employers posting there often value ISC2 certifications.
8. NinjaJobs
Best for: Security jobs in Europe
A community-run security job board with a European focus. Smaller than the big boards, but low on noise.
9. LinkedIn Jobs
Best for: The largest volume of security postings, plus recruiter outreach
The biggest pool of postings, and recruiters find candidates there. The catch is noise: "SOC analyst" searches return help desk, sales and offensive roles, and many postings are reposts from agencies.
10. Indeed
Best for: Local and on-site SOC roles at smaller employers
A general board with a huge reach, strong for on-site roles at local MSSPs, hospitals and utilities that don’t post anywhere else. Filtering to real blue team work takes effort.
11. Dice
Best for: Tech and security engineering roles, including contract work
A tech-focused board with plenty of security engineering and SIEM engineering roles, and more contract work than most. Fewer entry-level SOC openings.
12. Wellfound
Best for: Security roles at startups
The startup job board formerly known as AngelList Talent. Good for detection engineering and cloud security roles at young companies, where one security hire often covers everything.
How to use these boards together
- Start with a blue team board to see who is actually hiring for the role you want, then check the employer's own careers page before applying. The same job often appears on several boards.
- If you hold a clearance, add ClearanceJobs and USAJOBS. If you don't, filter clearance roles out early so they don't crowd your search.
- Save searches and alerts on two or three boards at most. More than that mostly shows you the same postings again.
- For entry-level roles, see entry-level blue team jobs and our guide for Google Cybersecurity Certificate holders. Leaving the military? See SkillBridge and veteran cyber jobs.
How we ranked them
We looked at each board as a defensive security job seeker would: the share of listings that are real SOC, incident response, forensics, detection or threat intelligence work; whether you can filter by role, remote, seniority and clearance; and how many postings are duplicates, agency reposts or off-topic roles. Boards that charge job seekers were left out. Run a board that belongs here? Tell us.
